Before we even knew what womanhood was, many of us were thrust into the sisterhood blindly and handed a pre-packaged identity starter kit prepared by our family, culture, and the greater society. Whether girls were surrounded by pink, feminist ideologies, teen magazines, or sports teams, every woman was handed the origins of her identity, the ingredients to form her first taste of womanhood. Sometimes embraced, other times rejected, these ingredients laid the foundation for who we are today.
